Thanks for visiting us, Frances!

Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Dr. Frances H. Arnold from Caltech University, honored us by meeting with our research group and visiting our Institution in the context of her participation in the 2020 Congreso Futuro conference.

During her visit to our university, Frances met with all members of our team and also with high schools students Antonia Campos and Daniela Gutierrez and teacher Roxana Nahuelcura from Liceo Javiera Carrera, who have been working with us on high school science projects related to the enzymatic degradation of plastics.

Frances also took the opportunity to give a seminar sponsored by the Institute for Biological and Medical Engineering along with the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, entitled “Innovation By Evolution: Bring New Chemistry to Life”, and held in the Victor Pillon Auditorium at its full capacity.
